The rise of cheap, flavoured, disposable vapes that are high in nicotine, is fuelling a new public health crisis.
While they're claimed as a quit smoking aid for adults, vapes are sold aggressively to young people. High doses of nicotine, delivered alongside sweet flavours, are packaged with misinformation about vape safety.

Associate Professor Becky Freeman is a global authority on how the tobacco and vaping industry circumvent advertising bans to market their products to young people. As well as leading a major study on vaping among youth, she runs a research program focused on countering the commercial determinants of health. Becky is a frequent media commentator on tobacco control topics and the health impacts of advertising. Born in England and raised in Canada, she now calls Australia home.
