Native flora. Industrial remnants. Invasive weeds. Indigenous sites. These are some of the subjects that were explored by a group of people with disabilities on a series of photo walks along the Cooks River in 2023, led by professional artists, and funded by an Inner West Council grant.
The group show includes photographs taken with a variety of different processes and mediums. They reflect on the river ecosystem and the contrasting industrial remnants and natural beauty, through the lens of photomedia.
The resulting works draw attention to the things and places that we sometimes overlook. They highlight the interaction between place and people, photographic process and print.
