Learn the basics of working with clay in this comprehensive 8-week course. Our expert tutor will guide you in building your skills, so that you can construct ceramic forms both at the wheel and using handbuild techniques.
You'll create functional vessels and will expand your knowledge of techniques such as pressing, coiling and slab building. You'll also learn how to apply slips, glazes, and other surface treatments
This course takes place on Monday's over 8 weeks:
Week 1: 5 February, 10am to 12:30pm
Week 2: 12 February, 10am to 12:30pm
Week 3: 19 February, 10am to 12:30pm
Week 4: 22 February, 10am to 12:30pm
Week 5: 4 March, 10am to 12:30pm
Week 6: 11 March, 10am to 12:30pm
Week 7: 18 March, 10am to 12:30pm
Week 8: 25 March, 10am to 12:30pm
Small class size: maximum 10 students.
Level: designed for beginner level students 16+yrs
Wear: comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes (trousers recommended)
Bring: please bring your own apron and towel
Your works will be fired and ready to collect around 3-4 weeks after the course. We are unable to fire pieces made outside of the course.
