In 1969 Russell's single 'The Real Thing' was NO 1 in Australia, New York, Chicago and Houston. Produced by Ian Molly Meldrum, this his most memorable and longest running hit song at 6 minutes and 20 seconds long, beat Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' to the punch by six years!
In 2008, Russell was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame and in 2012 his album Sharkmouth went Top 10 Platinum winning him his 1st ARIA at 64. His albums Black & Blue Heat (producer Bernard Fanning) and Red Dirt Red Heart then went on to win ARIA's in 2013 & 2016 and today he shows no signs of slowing down. His latest album 'Jack Chrome & the Darkness Waltz' debuted last year at no 1 on Australia's Jazz and Blues Albums chart. Russell Morris is The Real Thing.
